Level 1 Chimney Inspection
When we do your annual chimney sweeping, you can expect this level of inspection to come along with it. It’s intended for systems that haven’t changed (your appliance and fuel are the same), and it includes a visual inspection of all the readily-accessible parts of your chimney system, on the inside and outside.
Level 2 Chimney Inspection
This level of inspection should always be performed when a property is being bought or sold, and when something in the system has changed (a new appliance, a new flue liner, a fuel change). It includes the visual inspection process of Level 1, but technicians will also check other areas, including crawl spaces, basements and/or attics.
Level 3 Chimney Inspection
If it seems like problems are deep within your system, it’s likely that a Level 3 inspection will be recommended. This level of inspection includes the Level 2 process, but can also include the removal of fixed items that are impeding a more thorough inspection (this can include drywall, doors, even parts of the chimney).
